Domestic violence
shatters lives and crosses boundaries of
ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion,
and socioeconomic status. Domestic violence also
affects millions of women and children across
the globe each year.
Recognizing the
dire need for safe, emergency housing for the
women and children who are fleeing for their
lives, WINGS, in collaboration with Kimball Hill
Homes and HomeAid Chicago, built a
15,000 square
foot Safe House. This refuge can
provide safe, immediate housing to 45 women and
children each night. In addition, each resident
has access to the following services:
