WINGS Career Opportunities: 

FAMILY ENRICHMENT SPECIALIST (Safe House and Transitional):

Provide training, support, and encouragement for women and children in ways that enhance their life and assist them towards more independent living and wellness. Assess, implement and coordinate activities that teach and support mother and children in obtaining needed life skills; oversee activities that support the needs of children in our program, help enrich the quality of life for the child and family; provide excellent documentation and fulfill other responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications: Bachelors degree in social services or related field, available to be on call every 5 weeks, must have a valid IL driver`s license and automobile insurance, strong project management, interpersonal, problem-solving organizational, and verbal and written communication skills with professional boundaries, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, advanced experience in Access and Excel a plus


2 FULL TIME OPENINGS: Position, requires evenings and some weekends. Must be willing and able to work at least one or two holidays.

Bilingual Case Manager:

Coordinate and implement supportive services for WINGS residents by providing guidance and making necessary referrals based on goals established by the resident and the objective of the WINGS transitional housing program, assess each woman upon entry to the program for needs and strengths, assist and support residents, provide referrals for residents and/or their children, conduct House Meetings, provide additional support for group sessions, other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, must have strong management, interpersonal, problem-solving organizational, verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, must have a driver's license and automobile insurance. 

1 FULL TIME (MUST BE BILINGUAL) 1 PART TIME (20 hours per week), requires evening and some weekends.  Must be willing and able to work at least one or two holidays.

Suburban Latina Outreach Coordinator: 

The Latina Outreach Coordinator will develop, implement, and maintain the training material used for the Latina Outreach Program.  Responsible for the recruitment, training, placement, scheduling, and retention of bilingual, culturally competent volunteers to work with WINGS families.  Act as a staff liaison to the WINGS Latino Advisory Committee through collaborating with and communicating needs of the Latina Outreach.  Responsible for the evaluation of Latina outreach services. 

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Psychology, related field, or equivalent experience. 

-Bilingual (Spanish) skills required.

-Fluency in written and oral Spanish required.

-Knowledge of Latino culture required. 

-Experience working with the Latino community, volunteers, homeless families, victims of domestic violence, or other trauma related populations preferred 

-Willingness and ability to successfully complete 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training (WINGS will provide).

-Must be able to work efficiently and independently

-Must be highly organized and attentive to detail

-Must have strong project management, interpersonal, problem-solving organizational, and verbal and written communication skills with professional boundaries

-Must be motivated, demonstrate a high level of professionalism, and be able to build rapport with staff, residents, volunteers, and community members.

-Compassionate and caring with sensitivity to the special needs of women and children

-Strong commitment to the success and potential of all women and children

-A willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends.

-Must have reliable transportation.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, advanced experience in Access and Excel a plus.

Chef: 

WINGS, a non profit organization serving the north and northwest suburbs, provides a continuum of integrated services in an effort to end domestic violence and homelessness one family at a time.

WINGS helps homeless and abused women and children by offering integrated services that meet their needs for shelter, education, guidance and support. We provide safe, secure living environments, through transitional housing and emergency shelter, in residential neighborhoods that allow women to go to school, work, and care for themselves and their children.

Job Responsibilities:  Wings seeks a part time chef (25 hours per week) to provide balanced nutritious meals to the women and children of our safe house.  Responsibilities include menu planning, meal preparation, ordering, processing and receiving food, and some reporting.

Qualifications:  Food and Safety Sanitation Certificate required, team player, desire to help women and children in need, homeless experience a plus.  Must have a valid IL drivers license and automobile insurance.
