What We Do WINGS helps homeless and abused women and children by offering integrated services that meet their needs for shelter, education, guidance and support. We provide safe, secure living environments, through transitional housing and emergency shelter, in residential neighborhoods that allow women to go to school, work, and care for themselves and their children. WINGS is a 501(c)(3) non-operating foundation. Who We Serve Our residents are women and children who are victims of domestic violence and need temporary safe shelter or who become homeless due to other extreme hardships and circumstances. Most of them come from the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago’s Cook and Lake Counties, the city of Chicago and surrounding areas. How You Can Help
There are a number of ways you can help us achieve our goal of
ending homelessness one family at a time. Start by registering or
buying raffle tickets for WINGS 8th Annual Benefit
Ride! We have many other events throughout the year including
our annual Purple Tie Gala in September. You
can also support us by donating or shopping at our three resale
store in Palatine, Niles, and Schaumburg. The resale stores provide
over 30% of the funding necessary for us to provide critical
services to the women and children in our program. As
with any non-profit, we are always in need of volunteers. WINGS
volunteers are a critical component of our organization and provide
assistance at events, in our resale stores, and in our
administrative offices.
